Trip overview

The enchanting view of the great Himalayan ranges of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre makes Pokhara one of the world’s most popular places for paragliding. The bird’s eye view of Phewa Lake, verdant valley, and green slopes make the experience even more incredible.

You will have to make your booking a day or two before the desired date for paragliding. On the day of flying, we will pick you up from Lakeside as per your paragliding schedule. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Sarangkot from Lakeside. The flight takes off from Sarangkot and lands near Phewa Lake. Usually, people do tandem paragliding, but if you are a certified paraglider, you can go for a solo flight as well. For solo flying, you will have to get permission from the Civil Aviation Office of Pokhara. The permit costs about $50. Internationally certified pilots conduct all of our tandem flights. You can choose the duration of flight either cloud buster (30 minutes) or cross country (60 minutes). We even offer paragliding courses, ranging from 3 days, five days to 15 days.

There are four timings for flying: early morning, mid-morning, early afternoon, and late afternoon. The thermals become stable only after the sun has been out for hours, and the Earth is adequately heated, so morning flights are usually shorter than flights in the afternoon. If you are willing to go for an early morning flight, you could reach Sarangkot early in the morning to witness the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas from the viewpoint.

You will be able to do paragliding at Pokhara throughout the year. The only requirement is that it should not rain. However, the thermals are even more stable from September until July.

During peak seasons like autumn and spring, Pokhara gets very crowded. If such a crowd is not to your liking, you can do paragliding at Bandipur. Take off from the Bandipur hill ridge and soar above the green jungles over the Marsayangdi River. Bandipur is located about 80 km to the east of Pokhara. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Newari village of Bandipur and the snow-capped peaks of Manaslu, Makalu, and Annapurna. This will surely be an unbeatable experience. However, if you do not want to go far from Kathmandu for paragliding, you can either do it from Chapakharka in Godavari village or Jarsinghpauwa.
