Trip overview

Flying over the lush green hills and valleys in a hot air balloon is bound to feel surreal. The close views of some of the tallest mountains and the beautiful landscape sceneries below make it even more enjoyable.

In Pokhara
As you take off for sunrise, you will be mesmerized by the spectacular views. The hot air balloon in Pokhara takes off from the serene village of the Dhampus or Landruk, depending upon the weather condition. It reaches over the height of 3000 meters, taking you close to Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, and other smaller peaks. The local farmland and the beautiful Phewa Lake also look magnificent. You will be picked up by our vehicle from Lakeside and will be dropped back at Lakeside afterward. Your ballooning package includes light refreshment drinks and snacks. The duration of the flight can be either 25-30 minutes or 50-60 minutes, as per your preference.

In Kathmandu City
The other hot air ballooning option is from Bhaktapur, one of the three cities of the historic Kathmandu valley. Every morning from Thimi, balloons take off with 8-12 passengers each. It takes you through the ancient town of Bhaktapur towards the peaks of Ganesh, Langtang, Gaurishankar, and the glorious Everest. These balloons rise above 4000 meters, and the flight lasts for about an hour or more depending on the package.

Hot air balloons require steady but not too strong winds and a clear sky. Thus, the perfect time for ballooning adventure is autumn and spring. However, you may fly in a hot air balloon during any other time except monsoon (June-August). The sunrise view flights are more popular because of the heavenly scenes that one gets to witness. Besides sunrise view flights, there are packages suitable for special events like anniversaries and birthdays. What better way than to celebrate it with your friends and family while flying and enjoying the majestic sceneries.
