The Langtang Valley with Gosainkunda trek combines the remote yet spectacular valley of Langtangwith one of the highest lakes, Gosainkunda, at 4381m. One of the nearest trekking destinations from the capital, the Langtang region, hosts some of the rare flora and fauna, glimmering glaciers, and the ethnic Tamang and Sherpa people. The trek to one of the highest lakes in Nepal is also mesmerizing as you get to explore the best sceneries without having to travel very far from the capital. From the culture to the views of mountains, this trek is one of a kind.

Throughout the trek, you’ll be able to experience the lifestyle of people in the Langtang valley. Enjoy the exceptional terrain, biodiversity, and visit famous landmarks. The trek starts at Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. Heading towards the east into the valley, you pass through several rivers and massive gorges. Passing through the dense oak and rhododendron forest, you reach the Tamang village of Langtang. Visit the Kyangin Gompa to understand the culture of the region.

The trek to view the glaciers, you walk through Nubamtang, which is a gateway to Tibet. Trekking through Syabru and Sing Gompa, you reach the sacred Gosainkunda Lake. The spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Langtang Glacier, and the Langtang range are breathtaking. Visit the famous landmark of Tserko Ri and do not forget to try out the local Yak cheese. The weather during March-May and September-November is the most favorable for this trip.

Itinerary

You arrive at the lap of Himalayas via Tribhuvan International Airport, which lies in the capital city of Kathmandu. As per your flight, our staff will be waiting to greet and welcome you heartily. After introductions, you head to the hotel and refresh. Then, you join our teams to welcome dinner and discuss the trip.

After an early breakfast, you head to Syabrubensi via road. The road goes north from the capital city, and you drive past scenic views of the hills. Crossing many villages, you arrive at Dhunche, where you need to show permits to enter Langtang National Park. After carrying out the necessary procedures, you continue to travel along with the scenic views of mountains like Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. After crossing the Langtang River, you arrive at Syabrubensi for overnight stay.

After breakfast, the trek starts towards a ridge, and you descend to the dense forest filled with oak. The vegetation slowly starts to change, and you can see the number of pine trees increasing. You again head to the banks of Langtang River and cross it via a suspension bridge. Then, you ascend to Lama Hotel, where you stay overnight.

The trail today ascents to dense forests after breakfast. As you climb towards Ghoda Tabela, you catch glimpses of Langtang Lirung, and once you reach Ghoda Tabela, you get to see magnificent views of the mountain. From there, you continue to ascend and enter a small monastery. From there, the next village is Langtang village, where you stay overnight. The village is influenced by Tibetan culture.

After breakfast, you head to the grazing lands of yaks. As you ascend, you walk past Chortens and main walls. In some parts, you get to see religious carvings on rocks. After crossing two villages, the valley widens, and after crossing a stream, you reach Kyangin Gompa for overnight stay. From here, you get to see spectacular views of mountains like Langtang, Kimshung, and Dorje Lakpa.

After enjoying the time at Kyangin Gompa, you head back to Lama Hotel. You take on the trail that you used to ascend. The trek goes mostly downhill, so it is comparatively easier than ascending. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

After breakfast, you hit the trail that goes through a series of ascends and descends. Today, the trail first takes you through dense forests, and slowly, you walk past settlement areas with terraced farmlands. After reaching Pahare Hotel, you ascend to a forest, and from there, you arrive at Thulo Syabru for overnight stay.

The trail takes you past gompas and smallvillages today. After breakfast, you ascend from Thulo Syabru and make way towards potato fields. After crossing Dursagang village, the trail gets steep, and you continue to walk through dense forests, and at times, you walk by Chortens. You then leave the forest behind and head towards a ridge. Following the ridge, you arrive at Shing Gompa for overnight stay.

Today, you head to the holy lake and continue to walk along the ridge. After breakfast, the trail takes you through a rhododendron forest, and in the backdrop, you can see beautiful glimpses of Langtang Lirung, Manaslu, Himalchuli, and many more. After reaching the summer pastureland for livestock, you cross to go to the southern side of the ridge. Slowly, the view of Gosainkunda comes into view. Overnight stay at Gosainkunda.

After breakfast, you ascend to Lauribina La Pass. En route, you get to see breathtaking views of Manaslu, Langtang Lirung, and Ganesh Himal. The view gets better from the top of the pass. After soaking in the view, you descend to Ghopte. The descend is steep, and the route is filled with moraines. You then reach Phedi, and from there, Ghopte is a short walk. Overnight stay at Ghopte.

The trail today goes along several streams, so it israther pleasant to trek today. The trail goes through pine and rhododendron forests. After crossing the forest, you arrive at Tharepati, where you are rewarded with amazing views of the landscape. Then, you reach Kutumsang after crossing Mangengoth. Overnight stay at Kutumsang.

The trek is slowly coming to an end as you head to Chisapani. Today’s trek starts with a gentled ascend to a ridge, and then you descend to Gul Bhanjyang. After a series of ascends and descends, you arrive at Pati Bhanjyang, and from a steep downhill walk leads to Chisapani where you stay overnight.

Today is the last day of the trek. After breakfast, you hit the trail that goes through the lush forest. The trek today is quite pleasant with picturesque views of the villages, hills, and farmlands. You then enter the Shivapuri National Park, and from Mulkharka, you descend to Sundarijal. After leaving the national park, you drive to your hotel in Kathmandu. Later, you join our staff for a farewell dinner.

Today is the day you return to your home. Please do make sure you have your belongings with you. As per your scheduled flight, our staff will drop you off at the airport on time.
