Trip overview
Mohore Danda (3300m), located at Myagdi district around the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range, is a newly discovered hiking route in the Annapurna region. While the older trekking routes are filled with numerous trekkers, this new route only sees a few. This route has also been introduced to promote sustainable eco-tourism in the region.
The trek takes you to lesser-known yet charming villages with welcoming culture and unparalleled views of the mountains. The lifestyle, culture, and religion of the Gurung and Magar communities are unique to many trekkers. The residents seek to improve their lives through their numerous community-led initiatives like a homestay, cultural dance, animal husbandry, and others. You will be accommodated in homestays throughout the trek. Enjoy the warm hospitality of the Gurung and Magar people.The trek also takes you to the city of lakes, Pokhara. Relax by the beautiful Lakeside as you prepare for the trek.
The Mohore Danda trek gives you the closest view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from the hill station. The sunset and sunrise view from the Poonhill station is beautiful. Traversing through the dense forest, lush pasturelands, and suspension bridges and the ride alongside the banks of Trishuli and Kali Gandaki make the trip worthwhile. Itinerary
As per your schedule, you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, which is located at the heart of the capital city, Kathmandu. Our staff and representatives will be eagerly waiting to welcome you warmly. After brief introductions, you head to the hotel and refresh. Afterward, you meet our team again to welcome dinner, and you can discuss the details of the trip.
You have the option to drive or fly to Pokhara. If you opt to drive, you travel along the Prithivi Highway, enjoying the sceneries of the Trishuli River. The drive takes 6-7 hours and goes along the lush forests and hills. If you choose to fly, you head to the domestic airport and catch the flight to Pokhara that lasts for 25 minutes. The flight takes you through breathtaking views of the Pokhara Valley with the majestic mountains in the background.
After breakfast, you get ready and board the vehicle that’ll take you to Galeshwor. The drive takes 3 hours as you ride along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. En route, the views are scenic with green hills and beautiful river flowing candidly. You have lunch at Galeshwor and then start to prepare to trek. The trail steadily goes uphill to Bas Kharka, where you stay overnight.
After breakfast, you continue the trek through the dense forests of rhododendron. The views of the hill landscape are spectacular, and you pass by many rustic villages and settlement areas. As you walk on, mountains like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri also come into view. Before sunset, you arrive at Nangi for an overnight stay.
Today, you head towards Mohore Danda. To reach there, you continue to walk through the rhododendron forests. Gradually, the forest starts to get mixed with other trees like pine and oak. Upon reaching Mohare Danda, the fantastic panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and many more reward you. Overnight stay in camp.
You have a hearty breakfast and prepare to head to Ghorepani. The trail is pleasant and short. You arrive at Ghorepani, which is inhabited by the Gurung community. You head to the homestay and experience their culture firsthand—overnight in homestay.
You wake up at dawn and hike up to Poonhill to view the magical sunrise over the majestic mountains. From the hill station, you can see mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Gangapurna, and many more. After enjoying the view, you head back and have breakfast. Then, you descend to Ulleri, but if there is time, you head to Tikhedhunga for overnight stay.
Today is the final day of your trek. After breakfast, you descend through the rhododendron forests and arrive at Nayapul. Bid goodbye to the beautiful snow-clad mountains, and then drive back to Pokhara. At Lakeside, you can enjoy a much-needed relaxing time.
The trip nears to an end as you head back to Kathmandu. Once you reach the hotel, you rest and refresh. If you want, you can also go for shopping and buy souvenirs. Then, you meet our representatives for a farewell dinner.
The last day of the trip has finally arrived. Our staff will make sure to drop you off at the airport on time as per your schedule. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to see you again!
